<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of raising failure prediction accuracy with respect to the failure prediction targeting devices such as an image forming device, etc. <P>SOLUTION: A failure prediction system executes steps of: using a device operation state acquisition part 1 and a device usage condition acquisition part 2 to acquire (receive) operation state data and time data from an image forming device to be monitored; using a failure sign index calculation part 3 to calculate a failure sign index showing the feature of a value of each operation parameter, on the basis of the operation state data (the value of each operation parameter); using a failure sign index correction part 4 to correct the failure sign index (a converted value) after conversion of the failure sign index, so as to decrease a contribution degree in failure prediction, with respect to a period when the operation of the image forming device to be monitored is estimated to be unstable on the basis of the time data (a value of each time element); using a failure sign determination part 5 to predict occurrence of failure in the image forming device to be monitored, on the basis of the failure sign index (the converted value) after the correction; and using a notification part 6 to notify a user of a prediction result. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
