<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving visibility of a video image of a targeted region part of an infrared camera video image, especially an infrared video image technique effective as a system for supporting aircraft operation, without being influenced by a signal level of an untargeted region of which level is significantly different from an image signal of the targeted region part when the infrared camera video image is displayed. <P>SOLUTION: A method for improving visibility of an infrared video image on the basis of position information of an aircraft, distinguishes targeted/out-of-target areas on a display screen from stored terrain/geographical feature information, transforms them by being mapped on an infrared camera view angle, and thus improves the visibility of the video image of the targeted area by avoiding displaying an image of the out-of-target area sent from an infrared camera. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
