PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To directly form a wavelength plate, azimuth rotator, and filter in a groove disposed so as to cross a core of an optical waveguide.SOLUTION: The optical waveguide having a wavelength plate includes: one or more grooves 5-2 disposed so as to cut a core 5-1 of the optical waveguide; oriented films 5-3 for liquid crystal having undergone orientation processing in the one or more grooves; and a polymeric liquid crystal 5-5 sandwiched between the oriented films for liquid crystal. The oriented films 5-3 for liquid crystal are oriented films oriented by linear polarization of ultraviolet rays. By adjusting the direction of the linear polarization of radiated ultraviolet rays, the orientation direction of the filled polymeric liquid crystal 5-5 is controlled, and ultraviolet curing is performed. |
