PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat transfer sheet featuring that sheet releasability from a dye receiving layer is high, a frictional force between the dye receiving layer and sheet can be optimized, and abnormal transfer or creases can be prevented and to provide an image forming method capable of preventing the abnormal transfer or creases to form an image with high print quality.SOLUTION: A heat transfer sheet has a dye layer containing a dye and a binder resin formed on one side of a base material. The dye layer further contains a polyethylene wax and phosphate. The polyethylene wax content falls within a range of 0.01 mass% or more and 0.25 mass% or less for the total solid content weight of the binder resin and dye. The phosphate content is limited to 1 mass% or more and 4 mass% or less for the total solid content weight of the binder resin. |
