<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress ply looseness while improving the burst-proof property and cut resistance. <P>SOLUTION: A pneumatic tire 1 for a rally includes: a carcass 6 including a turned-back ply 6A consisting of a body part 6a of toroidal shape and a carcass cord containing a turned-back part 6b that is continuous with the body part 6a, and a lowering ply 6B made of a carcass cord containing only the body part 6c of toroidal shape; a bead apex rubber 8 that extends from a bead core 5 toward outside in a radial direction; and a side reinforcing rubber layer 9 that reinforces a sidewall part 3. The carcass cord of the turned-back ply 6A is made of a nylon fiber cord, and is disposed inside the side reinforcing rubber layer 9 in the tire axial direction. The carcass cord of the lowering ply 6B is made of an aramid fiber cord and is arranged outside the side reinforcing rubber layer 9 in the tire axial direction.
