<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder capable of performing recording position control corresponding to a variation of a distance between a recording head and paper in a main scanning direction even in the acceleration/deceleration area of a carriage without increasing a load on a processing system, and to provide an inkjet recording method. <P>SOLUTION: A first correction amount is acquired from the variation of the distance between the recording head and paper in the main scanning direction, and stored in a first table in association with the absolute position of the recording head. A second correction amount is acquired from information on the scanning speed of the carriage, and stored in a second table in association with a relative position from the scanning start position of the carriage. Before starting each scanning, the scanning start position is acquired to perform positioning between the absolute position in the first table and the relative position in the second table, and then a third correction amount is calculated from the first correction amount and the second correction amount, and stored in a third table.
