The discharge device (1) has an operating device (10) that adjusts gas flow of a compressed gas container (16). An opening unit (12) is relatively moved with respect to the compressed gas container in longitudinal direction for opening the compressed gas container. A bracket (3) is provided for securing the compressed gas container in the housing (2) so as to support the gas container, when the container is opened by the opening unit. An independent claim is included for method for activation of discharge device.
