The present invention relates to a composition comprising a Leonurus sibiricus-specific extract as an active ingredient for preventing or treating respiratory inflammatory diseases. According to the present invention, the Leonurus sibiricus-specific extract as a target can be efficiently used for preventing or treating respiratory inflammatory diseases through: an inhibitory activity test of 5-lipoxygenase (5-LO) using basophilic white blood cells; an inhibitory activity test of nitrite (NO) generation using RAW 264.7 cells; an inhibitory activity test with respect to acute inflammation using a BALB/c mouse model with LPS-induced lung damage; an inhibitory activity test of allergic asthma using the BALB/c mouse model; and a toxicity test of back mutation. Therefore, the extract can be efficiently used for preventing or treating respiratory inflammatory diseases, by confirming the safety and significantly strong effects in treating respiratory inflammatory diseases in comparison with a water extract of Leonurus sibiricus described in a prior document.
