A tamper-evident fastening device suitable for use with a wristband, wherein the device comprises: a casing 6 with two separate or hinged portions; and a divider 1. The divider has at least one engagement member 3, with a slot 12, which irreversibly engages with both a protrusion (11) and a recess formed within a channel on the casing. The engagement member 3 may be a hook, barb, V-shaped member or T-shaped member. Shield members 10 may cover the channel when the casing is closed. The divider can further include first 4 and second 2 retaining members to pierce a strap and hold it in place, they may be spears barbs, hooks or spikes. The first retaining 4 member prevents longitudinal movement of the first end of the strap, the second retaining member 2 is angled to allow longitudinal movement of a second end of the strap in one direction only. |
