PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an authentication system and an authentication program which improve in a first device the security of authentication information necessary for an authentication for a second device.SOLUTION: An authentication system 4 comprises: a printer 1 for storing self identification information; and a document management server 2 which can communicate with the printer 1. The printer 1 generates a secret key and a public key, and transmits the public key and the identification information of the printer 1 with a registration request to the document management server 2. The document management server 2 stores the public key and the identification information of the printer 1 associated with each other when receiving the registration request. The printer 1 generates a signature from the identification information of the printer 1 on the basis of the secret key when first authentication information necessary for authenticating the printer 1 and second authentication information necessary for authenticating the document management server 2 are input, and transmits the signature with the first and second authentication information to the document management server 2. The document management server 2 stores the identification information of the printer 1 and the first and second authentication information associated with each other when having been able to verify the signature with the public key. |
