The present invention provides a method and a device for forwarding a message. The method is applied to a layer-2 network device and comprises: a message from a source end is received, the type of the message is judged, and when the type is judged to be a specified type, the message is forwarded according to the processing flow corresponding to the specified type. Through the technical solution provided by the present invention, the technical problems that addresses may conflict, an IGMPv3 multicast source address cannot be distinguished and the like when a multicast IP address needs to be converted into an MAC address in the process of forwarding a message in the related art are solved, and the usability and security of the multicast function are improved. |
