A flexible coupling has a flexible torque disc 10, which is preferably a composite torque disc, comprising first and second sets of mount points 11a-f. A first coupling member 12 is mounted to the first set of mount points 11a, 11c, 11e and one or more second coupling members 17 each mounted to the second set of mount points 11b, 11d, 11f. The first coupling member 12 has one or more flanges 15b, 15d, 15f substantially parallel with the torque disc 10; the one or more second coupling members 17 each has a groove 20 engaging with the one or more flanges 15b, 15d, 15f so as to limit the displacement of the first coupling member 12 with respect to the second coupling member 17. The flanges 15b, 15d, 15f may be concave arch shaped and thinner than the rest of the first coupling member 12. The second couplings 17 are preferably fixed to the torque disc 10 by interference fit and preferably adhesive. The second couplings 17 may hold a fixing nut 23 captive therein, preferably by projections 27 of retaining clip 25 held in groove 26. |
