a polymer; andradiopaque metallic particles mixed or dispersed within the polymer; wherein the stent is self-expanding or balloon-expandable; wherein the stent is visible in an X-ray image; wherein the radiopaque metallic particles comprise a galvanic couple to facilitate corrosion of the radiopaque metallic particles; and wherein the radiopaque metallic particles comprise an alloy comprising Tungsten.
