The present invention relates to a method for enhancing productivity of rice seeds, which comprises a step of suppressing expression of LOC_Os08g12430 genes present in genome DNA of rice, a method for producing rice seeds in which expression of LOC_Os08g12430 genes is suppressed, and rice seeds prepared thereby, which has enhanced seed productivity. According to a method for enhancing productivity of rice seeds by suppressing expression of LOC_Os08g12430 genes provided by the present invention, productivity of rice seeds can be enhanced without introducing foreign genes, thereby ruling out a risk likely to be caused by introduction of foreign genes to be widely utilized in mass-producing safer rice seeds.
