1. A system for deleting map data, comprising:
an interface configured to:
determine a location associated with a device in the event that the device is initialized, wherein the device comprises a vehicle event recorder, wherein determining the location comprises: determining whether to use the device; in the event that it is determined to use the device to determine the location associated with the device, detecting hardware of the device comprising a type of modem in the device, wherein detecting hardware of the device comprises directly querying the modem to determine the type of modem, wherein detecting the hardware of the device comprises determining whether the type of modem in the device is CDMA; in the event that it is determined to not use the device, determining whether to use a network to determine the location; and a processor configured to:
determine one or more map bundles to delete based at least in part on the location, wherein the one or more map bundles were preloaded onto the device, wherein each of the one or more map bundles comprises a set of map data specific to a region used by the vehicle event recorder; anddelete the one or more map bundles. |
