Disclosed is a content providing apparatus for providing content to multiple users. The content providing apparatus includes: a communications unit for communicating with multiple user terminals used by users; and a processor for executing a program and controlling the content providing apparatus. The processor calculates a similarity index among multiple units of content based on text information about the content and selectively provides content based on the similarity index among multiple units of the content.
