According to the present invention, technologies related to scene analysis for improved eye tracking are generally described. According to some embodiments of the present invention, detected gaze targets can be derived from the gaze direction information of an eye-facing sensor. Detected gaze target positions and/or motion can be improved by capturing and analyzing digital scene information from a visible scene through eyes. Digital scene information captured by a digital camera can be analyzed to identify potential gaze targets, such as stationary gaze targets, moving gaze targets, and/or accelerating gaze targets. Detected gaze targets can be modified to positions of selected gaze targets. |
