An opening-closing mechanism comprising: an opening-closing member movable, with respect to a main body of an image-forming apparatus, between an open position in which the interior of the main body is open and a closed position in which the interior of the main body is closed; and a movable member movable, with respect to the main body, in conjunction with movement of the opening-closing member such that a gap between the movable member and the opening-closing member is reduced as the opening-closing member moves from the open position toward the closed position, the movable member including a display unit, which displays information about the image-forming apparatus, wherein the movable member moves in conjunction with the movement of the opening-closing member while changing the position and orientation relative to the opening-closing member such that a display direction of the display unit is maintained at a predetermined direction, and when an article is not inserted into the gap between the movable member and the opening-closing member during the movement of the opening-closing member from the open position toward the closed position, the movable member moves along a first path, and when the article is inserted into the gap between the movable member and the opening-closing member during the movement of the opening-closing member from the open position toward the closed position, the movable member moves along a second path which is different from the first path and in which the gap is not reduced.
