[Also in Group XXV] A guide for sliding doors formed of a tough expansible material, such as nylon, includes a head 2 to engage in a channel and a cylindrical shank 1 to fit into a hole in the door edge having an axially-extending hole 3 so that it can be expanded transversely of the axis, to secure the guide to the door, by means of a pin 4 or nail driven into the hole 3. The hole may be cylindrical and the shank may be expanded by means of a tapering pin or nail, when the end of the shank may have a transverse slot intersecting the hole, the width of the slot being preferably less than the hole's diameter. The hole 3 may have a taper, the narrower end being at the end of the shank 1 remote from the head, the pin 4 or nail being cylindrical. |
