Disclosed is a circuit protective device having a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device and a diode. A first insulation layer is formed between a first electrode surface of the diode and a first electrode surface of the PTC device and vias are formed in the first insulation layer such that the first electrode surface of the diode and the first electrode surface of the PTC device are thermally and electrically coupled with each other. A first external electrode pad, a second external electrode pad, and a third external electrode pad are provided on a second insulation layer which is formed on a second electrode surface of the PTC device. The second electrode surface of the PTC device is electrically coupled with the first external electrode pad. The first electrode surface of the diode and the first electrode surface of the PTC device are electrically coupled with the second external electrode pad, and the second electrode surface of the diode is electrically coupled with the third external electrode pad. When an excessive voltage is generated in a circuit, heat generated in the diode can be timely conducted to the PTC device through the vias, and the temperature of the PTC device can be rapidly raised such that the PTC device is induced to a high resistance state. Therefore, the circuit can be timely protected from the excessive voltage. |
