The present invention relates to an apparatus to control an exercise load of a cycle. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the apparatus to control an exercise load of a cycle comprises: an exercise load control part which is provided in a wheel of the cycle and has a generation part for generating electricity using kinetic energy generated when pedaling the cycle and a load control part for controlling an exercise load to the pedaling; a charging part which stores the electricity generated from the generation part; an exercise assisting power source part which drives the cycle using the electricity supplied from the charging part; and a control part which controls the operation of the exercise load control part and the exercise assisting power source part.
