Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for configuring a software application. First, a context retrieving unit (22) retrieves a context of a software application (10), and the context includes one or more qualifiers. Then, a comparison unit (23) compares the one or more qualifiers with nodes of a decision tree for determining a configuration identifier for the software application (11). Based on the determined configuration identifier, a configuration value retrieving unit (24) retrieves one or more configuration values for the software application (12). In order to generate a necessary decision tree, a configuration identifier determination unit (42) determines one or more configuration identifiers associated to configuration values for a software application (30). An association unit (43) then associates the determined one or more configuration identifiers with nodes of the decision tree (31). The resulting decision tree is stored in a storage unit (44) (32). |
