The present invention relates to an absorbent resin and, more specifically, to an absorbent resin for mixing a crosslinking additive for improving uniformity of a crosslinking structure to a polymerized water-impregnated gel, thereby maintaining excellent absorbability and improving transmissivity. The method for manufacturing an absorbent resin comprises the following steps: polymerizing a polymer composition including an acrylic acid monomer and a crosslinking agent; adding 0.5-5 parts by weight of a water-soluble compound including two or more hydroxyl groups in a water-impregnated gel manufactured by polymerization with respect to 100 parts by weight of non-polymerized acrylic acid, and mixing and kneading the mixture; drying and crushing the kneaded product.
