Disclosed in the present invention are a discriminating device and an operating method thereof. More specifically, the invention creates a vacuum inside a plunger and a nozzle by generating a vacuum on an end of the plunger and the nozzle, and to discriminate the existence of defects in the plunger and the nozzle by comparing a reference pressure measured on one end of the plunger and the nozzle to a target pressure measured on an other end of the plunger and the nozzle creating a vacuum therein; thus enabling to discriminate the existence of defects in the plunger and the nozzle before an actual mounting process of components.
