The present invention relates to a mobile terminal and a control method thereof. The mobile terminal includes: a camera; a touch screen displaying a preview screen captured by the camera when an image capturing mode is entered; and a control unit executing a corresponding menu when a preset user input is received on the preview screen, displaying the menu execution result on the preview screen for a preset period of time, and maintaining an execution state of a corresponding menu function. Therefore, the mobile terminal can increase a sense of immersion when an image is captured by deleting menu icons displayed when a preview for image capture is provided. In addition, the mobile terminal provides various functions even on the preview screen by diversifying user input methods which can be used on the preview screen.
