The present invention relates to a method to manufacture a high-strength plated steel wire for the reinforcement of an overhead transmission wire. The method to manufacture a high-strength plated steel wire for the reinforcement of an overhead transmission wire comprises: a step of manufacturing a steel wire by drawing steel composed of 0.9-1.2 wt% of carbon (C), 1.0-1.5 wt% of silicon (Si), 0.4-0.6 wt% of manganese (Mn), 0.2-0.7 wt% of chrome (Cr), 0.015 wt% or less of sulfur (S) (Excluding 0 wt%), 0.015 wt% or less of phosphorus (P) (Excluding 0 wt%), and the rest consisting of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities; a first plating step of primarily plating the steel wire in a galvanizing bath and forming an iron-zinc alloy layer wherein iron is diffused to be mixed with zinc and a galvanized layer formed on the iron-zinc alloy layer; and a second plating step of secondarily plating the steel wire in a zinc-aluminum plating bath after the first plating step such that the iron-zinc alloy layer can be denatured to an iron-zinc-aluminum alloy layer and the galvanized layer can be denatured to a zinc-aluminum alloy layer. In the plated steel wire, the thickness of the iron-zinc-aluminum alloy layer is 40-50% of the total thickness of the iron-zinc-aluminum alloy layer and the zinc-aluminum alloy layer. |
