The present invention relates to a microorganism containing a gene encoding an enzyme which is involved in the retinoid production, and to a retinoid production method using the same. More specifically, the present invention relates to a microorganism which contains a gene encoding an enzyme involved in the retinoid production and is capable of safely mass-producing retinoid with excellent efficiency. The present invention further relates to a retinoid production method using the microorganism. According to the present invention, the microorganism, which belongs to the genus Saccharomyces, has a capability of producing retinoid, and contains over-expressed 3-hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl (HMG)-CoA reductase. |
