PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently develop software designed respectively for a printer, copier, and facsimile device, and improve productivity of an apparatus as a whole.SOLUTION: There is provided an image forming apparatus that has hardware resources and provides user service related to image forming processing, the image forming apparatus having a platform that can mount therein a plurality of applications performing unique processing to respective user services, is interposed between the applications and the hardware resources, and performs management and control of execution of the hardware resources, image forming processing, and creation of jobs, which are commonly required for at least two of the applications, where the platform includes a common system service that performs management and control of execution of the hardware resources and image forming processing, and an application service that is interposed between the plurality of applications and the common system service and at least creates jobs corresponding to the applications.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
