The present invention relates to a friction stir welding tool for welding a thick plate that can minimize an increase in the area of a shoulder and enables a thick plate having a thickness of 100mm or more to be welded. The friction stir welding tool, according to the present invention, comprises: a rotor that has a cylindrical shape and has a shoulder formed on the surface of the tip end thereof; and a probe that protrudes from the central portion of the shoulder along the rotation axis line of the rotor, wherein the probe has a conical shape that extends from the central portion of the shoulder toward the outside of the shoulder, the length of the probe satisfies the following relational expression 1, and the diameter of the shoulder satisfies the following relational expression 2. [Relational expression 1] 0.75T ≤ L1 < T; [Relational expression 2] L2 ≤ L1, where T denotes the thickness of a welded member, L1 denotes the length from the start end of the probe to the extension end of the probe, and L2 denotes the diameter of the shoulder. |
