Disclosed is a rotary peristaltic infusion or feeding pump (1) having an insertable feeding set (5) received by the housing so the pumping device (29) acts on the feeding set to produce fluid flow for delivery of medication or nutrition to a subject. The pump includes a flow controller (48,62,36,4) in communication with an ultrasonic sensor (32) arranged in the pump housing at the downstream side of the feeding set to detect pressure changes as well as distinguish between an occlusion (A, B; 304, 312, 314, 328) of the feeding set and air within the feeding set (C; 328). |
