A method for treating a progesterone-dependent condition selected from the group consisting of endometriosis and pain associated therewith, adenomyosis, endometriosis or pain associated therewith, dysmenorrhea, uterine fibroids, endometrial hyperproliferation, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer comprising daily administration of a composition comprising between 5 and 20 mg of 21 - methoxy- 17a-acetoxy- 11 -(4 N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-19-norpregna-4,9-diene-3,20 dione or 17a-acetoxy-11 -(4-N,N-dimethylaminophenyl)-19-norpregna-4,9-dien-3,20-dione locally to the vaginal mucosa of a female in need thereof for period of at least 4 months. |
