PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cutting device which enables further improvement of tool life of a cutting tool and achieves high accuracy on a cutting surface, and to provide a cutting method.SOLUTION: A cutting device (1) includes: rotation means (70 etc.) which rotates a cutting tool (90) around an axis line (Rt) of the cutting tool (90); and feeding means (40 etc.) which relatively feeds the cutting tool (90) and a workpiece (W, WW). The rotation means (70 etc.) and the feeding means (40 etc.) feed an outer peripheral surface (91b) of the cutting tool (90) as a rake face (91b, 91ba, 91bb, 91bc) while rotating the outer peripheral surface to cut the workpiece (W, WW).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4A |
