A computer server for a network-based transaction system is coupled to a kiosk via a data communications network. The kiosk includes a computer processor, an input device, an electronic display unit, a plurality of compartments, and a data communications port. The computer server receives input from a seller of an item. The input includes a listing of the item for sale on the network-based transaction system. The server identifies an available compartment from the plurality of compartments based on the size of the item for sale. The available compartment is configured to receive the item for sale from the seller. The server transmits an identification of the available compartment to the seller via the electronic display unit, and enables access to the available compartment by the seller.

1. A kiosk comprising:
a computer processor; an input device coupled to the computer processor; an electronic display unit coupled to the computer processor; a plurality of compartments coupled to the computer processor; and a communication port coupled to the computer processor, the communication port operable to couple the computer processor to a data communications network and a network-based transaction system; the computer processor operable to:
receive via the input device an input from a seller of an item, the input comprising a listing of the item for sale on the network-based transaction system;identify a size of the item based on an identification of the item from the listing;identify an available compartment from the plurality of compartments based on the size of the item for sale, the available compartment configured to receive the item for sale from the seller;transmit an identification of the available compartment to the seller via the electronic display unit; andenable access to the available compartment by the seller.
