Provided are a method for synchronizing a device-to-device (D2D) terminal in a D2D communications network through the following steps: receiving a first D2D synchronizing signal from at least one D2D synchronizing source; and synchronizing according to a synchronizing time standard provided by the first D2D synchronizing signal, and a method for negotiating whether to perform a synchronizing source role with other D2D synchronizing source through the following steps: determining whether to maintain a role as an independent synchronizing source based on negotiation information for a negotiation between synchronizing sources included in a D2D synchronizing channel when the D2D synchronizing signal and the D2D synchronizing channel are received from at least one D2D synchronizing source; and operating with a relay synchronizing source when the role as the independent synchronizing source is not maintained.
