POWERED SURGICAL INSTRUMENT A control module (130) for use with a surgical instrument (100) is provided. The control module (130) comprises a storage unit for storing information relating to a force to be applied to different types of end effectors of the surgical instrument (100). The control module (130) is configured to measure at least one of voltage or current from a drive motor (210) of the surgical instrument (100); receive information from a sensor relating to the type of end effector that is engaged with the surgical instrument (100); and control a force being applied to the end effector that is engaged with the surgical instrument (100).
