摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an iron-based soft magnetic material by which an eddy current loss can be reduced sufficiently; and an iron-based soft magnetic core arranged by use of such an iron-based soft magnetic material.SOLUTION: An iron-based soft magnetic material comprises: matrix phases including iron as a primary component; and grain boundary phases including, as a primary component, a sulfide containing copper, and located at boundaries of crystal grains of the matrix phase. In the iron-based soft magnetic material, a combination of contents (atomic concentrations) of the iron plus a component constituting the matrix phases other than iron (Fe+&bgr;), copper (Cu) and sulfur (S) falls within an area enclosed by straight lines connecting a point "A" indicative of 70 at% for (Fe+&bgr;), 20 at% for Cu and 10 at% for S and a point "B" indicating of 77.5 at% for (Fe+&bgr;), 7.5 at% for Cu and 15 at% for S, a point "C" indicative of 98 at% for (Fe+&bgr;), 1.33 at% for Cu and 0.67 at% for S, and a point "D" indicative of 98.5 at% for (Fe+&bgr;), 0.5 at% for Cu and 1.0 at% for S in a ternary composition diagram.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
