PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyimide that has excellent alkali solubility and can be synthesized in γ-butyrolactone.SOLUTION: A polyimide comprises a structural unit derived from an aromatic tetracarboxylic acid without a plane of mirror symmetry, a structural unit derived from a diamine, and a structural unit derived from a monoamine compound.
