A scissor gear is provided, comprising a first gear having a plurality of circumferential teeth, a second gear attached to the first gear for rotation therewith about a common rotation axis, the second gear being movable about the rotation axis relative to the first gear between an aligned position, wherein the teeth of the second gear are aligned with the teeth of the first gear and a misaligned position, wherein the teeth of the second gear are misaligned with the teeth of the first gear, and a plurality of discrete polymer members each having a first engagement surface that engages a first surface of the first gear and a second engagement surface that engages a first surface of the second gear to exert a biasing force to rotate the second gear toward the misaligned position. |
