An air magnetic separator, comprising a shell (1) with a feed inlet (11) and discharge ports (6, 7). A non-full-magnetic magnetic roller (2) is provided inside the shell (1), an air ventilation port (4) is provided on the shell (1), and the air ventilation port (4) is opposite to a magnetic region of the magnetic roller (2). The dry air magnetic separator can effectively improve the grade of the selected iron ores, particularly for fine-grain low-grade raw ores with particles of a size of less than 120 mesh to 200 mesh accounting for 70%-85%, has a fine powder grade which can reach not less than 67%, a high concentration ratio and a treatment capacity, and is free from pollution.
