Provided are an application program corner mark adding method and apparatus, which fall within the technical field of computers. The application program corner mark adding method comprises: detecting whether a notification bar receives a notification message, wherein the notification message is sent by an application program to the notification bar after receiving unread messages (101); if it is detected that the notification bar receives the notification message, then determining the number of unread messages received by the application program corresponding to the notification message according to the notification message (102); and updating and displaying a corner mark value of an application program icon according to the number of unread messages (103). By means of the notification message received in the notification bar, the number of unread messages received by the application program corresponding to the notification message is determined, and the corner mark value of the application program is updated according to the number. The problem that a corner mark cannot be added to a non-system application program in the prior art is solved, and the effect that the corner mark can be added to an icon of a non-system application program and a system application program is achieved. |
