The disclosure relates to a data backup method and apparatus, and an electronic device. The method comprises: determining whether a newly-added file of a preset type locally exists; if the newly-added file of the preset type exists, calculating a check value corresponding to the newly-added file according to a preset algorithm; sending a query request comprising the check value to a connected router, so as to query whether a stored file with a same check value exists in the router; and if it is determined that a stored file with the same check value does not exist in the router according to a query result returned by the router, backing up the newly-added file to the router. By means of the technical scheme in the disclosure, when data of a terminal is backed up to a router, incremental backup can be implemented, which helps to improve the backup efficiency, reduce the size of transmitted data, and avoids bandwidth waste. |
