LOCATION METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR PARTIAL DISCHARGE SOURCE OF TRANSFORMER

A location method and apparatus for a partial discharge source of a transformer solve problems in the prior art that location failure can be easily caused in the case of certain time errors and distance measurement errors. The location method comprises: reading the starting time of an electromagnetic wave signal detected by each sensor in a four-element sensor array (S102); establishing a time-range difference equation set for the propagation of the electromagnetic wave signal according to the starting time (S104); calculating the time-range difference equation set within a preset confidence interval using the Newton's iteration location algorithm to obtain a calculation result in a complex field (S106); determining whether the calculation result is in a complex form (S108); determining a real solution of the time-range equation set using a grid search algorithm on the basis of the calculation result if the calculation result is determined to be in a complex form (S110); and outputting the real solution serving as a position coordinate for the discharge source (S112).
