Provided are the following: a diamond composite body that enables the time for separating a substrate and a diamond layer to be reduced; a manufacturing method of a substrate and a diamond; a diamond obtained from the diamond composite body; and a tool provided with the diamond. The diamond composite body comprises: a substrate containing a diamond seed crystal and having grooves in the main surface of the substrate; a diamond layer formed on the main surface of the substrate; and a non-diamond layer formed on the substrate side from the interface of the substrate and the diamond layer and with a uniform depth.
