摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a comparatively simple and low cost method for producing a high-strength magnesium alloy material.SOLUTION: The method for producing a high-strength magnesium alloy material includes the steps of: (a) preparing a magnesium alloy workpiece having a top face and a side face; and (b) applying a compressive load &sgr;p (MPa) from the top face side of the workpiece and performing the uniaxial forging on the workpiece. The step (b) is performed with the side face of the workpiece prevented from being deformed so as to widen outward, under conditions so that: (i) &sgr;p>&sgr;f (where &sgr;f is the compressive fracture stress (MPa) of the workpiece); (ii) a plastic deformation rate is less than or equal to 10%; and (iii) a strain rate is less than or equal to 0.1/sec.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
