PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus, a recording apparatus control method, and a program capable of suppressing recording misregistration resulting from a change in the friction coefficient between a recording medium and conveyance means in a case of double-sided printing.SOLUTION: The recording apparatus comprises: the conveyance means conveying the recording medium; a recording head applying a color material to the recording medium conveyed by the conveyance means in a predetermined conveyance direction; acquisition means acquiring information related to a recording condition for a first surface of the recording medium on which a first image is recorded, the recording conditions causing a change in a conveyance speed for conveying the recording medium if the first surface contacts the conveyance means; and control means controlling timing of applying a color material to the recording medium at a time of recording a second image on a second surface that is a surface opposite to the first surface, in response to the recording conditions indicated by the information acquired by the acquisition means.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 11
