PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polycarbonate excellent in light resistance, transparency, hue, heat resistance, thermal stability and mechanical strength.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for producing a polycarbonate which comprises supplying a dihydroxy compound represented by the following formula (1), a carbonate diester, and a polymerization catalyst continuously to reactors and carrying out polycondensation, wherein the plurality of reactors are connected at least in series and the fluctuation of the outlet pressure of a gear pump is set at 0.1% or more and 20% or less when the polycarbonate is discharged quantitatively from a final polymerization tank through the gear pump.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
