1. A system for delivering departure alerts to the user, the system comprising:
a data aggregation server containing data pertaining to traffic conditions for a plurality of road segments; and a departure alert interface device, the departure alert interface device including a processor that executes instructions stored in memory, wherein execution of the instructions by the processor:
receives user input associated with a scheduled trip, the user input including an origination point, desired arrival point, desired arrival date, and desired arrival time,generates a preliminary route of travel based on the user input;receives data pertaining to traffic conditions stored in the data aggregation server, wherein the received data pertains to a plurality of road segments associated with the generated preliminary route of travel,evaluates estimated travel time for the generated preliminary route of travel, the evaluated travel time based on the accessed data from the data aggregation server and the user input, andprovides one or more departure notices that includes a departure time and the generated preliminary route of travel that satisfies the user input associated with the scheduled trip. |
