Provided are a resource configuration method and apparatus and a communication system. The resource configuration method comprises: configuring, by a base station, a first type of wave beams and a second type of wave beams having different wave beam widths, wherein the first type of wave beams and the second type of wave beams are transmitted on a reference signal resource, and a reference signal is pre-coded by means of a weighting coefficient of the wave beams; and broadcasting wave beam configuration information to a user equipment. The user equipment performs wave beam measurement according to the wave beam configuration information broadcast by the base station and feeds back channel information about the first type of wave beams and the second type of wave beams according to a feedback content indicated by the base station. By means of the embodiments of the present invention, a base station having a plurality of antennas can flexibly utilize various wave beam widths and different wave beam directions to serve different user equipments in a cell, thereby increasing an average throughput of the cell. |
