The present invention relates to aqueous polyphosphate solutions and to a method for producing same, which method is based on the mixing of polyphosphoric acid, ammonia, and dissolved sodium aluminate and/or potassium aluminate. The invention additionally relates to agents that contain such polyphosphate solutions and to the use of said agents for flameproofing materials at risk of fire, such as textiles in particular.
