The present invention relates to an oval seat retainer for a ball valve. In a closed state of a ball valve, a leakage concern exists by occurrence of asymmetrical deformation due to a central penetration hole of the ball. In the present invention, a seat portion is formed to be deformable by forming a groove in a circumferential direction at a bottom portion of a seat ring of the seat retainer, and forming a rear surface portion of the seat retainer into an oval shape, of which an area of a right and left sides are large and an area of an up and down portions are narrow corresponding a side surface portion of the ball such that fluid pressure is acted asymmetrically following asymmetrical deformation, thereby the seat retainer deforms asymmetrically and maintains secure sealing.
